For the first time in 2024, Netball Tasmania is running a statewide Inclusion Netball program. The program has been running in both the North and South of the state for the past 7 weeks. Throughout the program the participants have covered basic netball skills, shooting & defending and game basics and are now focused on match play in their sessions.
With such great involvement and participation from the community, Netball Tasmania would like to use this opportunity to announce our intentions to, with the support of the Confident Girls Foundation, put together a state representative team to head to the 2024 Marie Little Shield. This will be the first team representing Tasmania in the Marie Little Shield, and we are extremely excited to announce this opportunity for our Inclusion program participants. The Marie Little Shield is a competition for all-abilities teams from each state, providing the chance for female athletes with an intellectual disability to represent their state at a national level.
The team will begin training shortly with the competition to take place in a few months' time. We are excited to bring you along on our team's journey to the Marie Little Shield 2024.
