For the third year in a row, the Northern Hawks and the Cavaliers will meet again in the Grand Final of this year's Tasmanian Netball League season. This time around however, the tables have turned, and the Cavaliers are going in favourites.
Finishing as minor premiers and not dropping a game, the Cavs headed straight through to the Grand Final with a win in the semi-finals. The Hawks had the tougher path to the Grand Final. Finishing in third they lost the second chance and had to defeat Cripps Waratah, and then Kingston Blues to make it through. The finals experience and maturity in the Hawks team was clear in both games, they breezed through the semi and then locked in for the last quarter of the prelim to join the 19U Hawks team in the big dance.
This is the first time in nearly a decade that both teams will be in the Grand Final. The only question is, can they make it a clean sweep?
Watch out for Hayley McDougall who has had an incredible season so for in GS for the Cavaliers, and the Hawks defensive circle in Lynette Childs and Molly Green who dominated in the prelim.
