This match will be the fourth consecutive year that the Magpies have played a home game at the Silverdome. Collingwood have had success in all their previous outings at the Silverdome, most recently defeating the NSW Swifts in 2019 to keep their season alive.
The Magpies will be looking to turn the tables on the Giants, who defeated them by less than 10 goals in both occasions throughout the 2019 season.
Collingwood Magpies Head Coach, Rob Wright, was excited about the opportunity to return and play in front of the Tasmania support base.
“It’s great being able to return to Tassie for another season, it’s our home away from home,” Wright said.
Netball Tasmania CEO, Aaron Pidgeon, is pleased that Super Netball is returning to Tasmania.
“Netball Tasmania is excited to again be hosting a Suncorp Super Netball match at the Silverdome in 2020.”
“Having the Giants down for that game is fantastic as it will be the third different team in the past three years. Along with Magpies guns like Ash Brazill, Shimona Nelson and Geva Mentor; having Giants on show will allow our Netball Community access to see other stars in action such as Australian Diamonds Caitlin Bassett and Jamie-Lee Price, as well as English superstar Jo Harten.”
“Netball Tasmania is continuing to build on an already strong relationship with Collingwood and we look forward to what our future together holds.”
Tickets will go on sale in early March.
