In a first for Tasmania, Sophie Sherriff has been named the joint 17&U MVP at the National Netball Championships.
2025 was Sophie's first year at the National Netball Championships, and her first year played alongside twin Isabella Sherriff. The 17&U Tasmanian team made a great run at the championships, finishing in 6th spot after playing off against QLD for 5th.
At the young age of 16, Sophie adds to her tally of National awards. She has previously won the Amy Safe Award in 2023 at the 15&U SSA Championships. Sophie plays for local club the Northern Hawks in the Tasmanian Netball League and is known among her peers for her composure and quiet confidence in goals.
This is an incredible achievement for Sophie and for Tasmanian netball.
