All three matches in the 19U's Round 8 were won by significant margins.
Devon set the tone early at Ulverstone Sports & Leisure Centre, defeating Kingston Blues 63–35. A high-pressure defensive effort and quick transitions allowed Devon to take control from the outset, steadily extending their lead throughout the match.
The Cavaliers followed with an equally strong performance at newly opened 'the Hub', overcoming South East Suns 60–32. Their consistency across all four quarters, combined with efficient shooting and disciplined defence, ensured a comfortable victory. The Cavaliers Amber Brown scored 19U's Hot Shot of the Round, scoring 37 goals from 40 shots at 92%.
The most dominant defensive display came from Northern Hawks 19U who defeated Karana Flames 58–24 at the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre. The Hawks restricted scoring opportunities and capitalised on turnovers, producing one of the most complete performances of the round.
The Opens competition offered a mix of tight contest and one-sided encounters, showcasing both resilience and firepower.
Kingston Blues claimed a solid 51–42 win over Choices Flooring Devon in the day’s most competitive matchup. Kingston’s composure in key moments and consistent attacking pressure allowed them to secure the result after a last quarter comeback. For her dominant role in the comeback, Nicole Hunt locked herself into Player of the Round for round 8.
The Northern Hawks delivered a standout performance, dominating Karana 66–27 at the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre. Their relentless defensive pressure and quick ball movement overwhelmed the Flames, resulting in the largest margin of the round. Northern Hawks, Sophie Sherriff was Opens Hot Shot of the round scoring 100% and 11 from 11.
The Cavaliers also impressed, defeating South East Suns 59–31 at the Hub. A well-balanced team effort and strong connections across the court enabled the Cavs to control the game from start to finish.
Teams that applied sustained defensive pressure and capitalised on turnovers were rewarded with strong results. Several sides are beginning to build momentum at a crucial stage of the season. With the competition heating up, the race for ladder positions is becoming increasingly defined as teams push toward the midpoint of the season.
