Round 7 of the TNL delivered a round of statement wins and spilt results between Opens and 19U performances.
in the 19Us, Devon set the tone early with authority, overpowering Karana 54–29 in a commanding performance that showcased their depth and defensive pressure. Cavaliers, meanwhile, were pushed to the limit but held firm in a tense 44–40 victory over Kingston, proving their composure in clutch moments. Cripps rounded out the first slate with a strong 51–30 win against Hawks, controlling the game from start to finish.
Cripps, Devon, Cavaliers and Kingston round out the top four after playing each other once. There's not a lot in the points with only Cripps finishing the first round through with no losses.
But as the Opens matchups began, the storylines evolved.
Devon doubled down on their dominance in both divisions, dismantling Karana even more emphatically, 75–24. The Cavaliers again faced a determined Kingston side, and while Kingston attempted to close the gap, Cavaliers completed the sweep with a 51–43 win, continuing their consistent run.
Hawks flipped the script of the 19U match against Cripps, grinding out a hard-fought 35–30 victory. It was a performance built on resilience and adjustment, denying Cripps the clean sweep and ending the round on a high note.
By the end of Round 7, Hawks and Cavaliers stand tall at the top of the ladder, with only the first-round draw for the Cavaliers separating them. Cripps, despite a strong start, were left to reflect on a missed opportunity, and Karana endured a tough outing against a relentless Devon side.
