TNL Round 13 and teams are going from strength to strength.
The round kicked off on Friday night with Kingston vs Karana. With Kingston continuing to dominate on court, the club took away wins in both matches. The 19&U goal circle of Bella Turner, Daisy Bennett and Evie King has gelled over the past few matches, this week was no different. In the Opens, Nicole Hunt continues to blow away the competition in goals, scoring 66 goals from 70 shots to be our Hot Shot of the round for the third week in a row. Complementing this, the experience of Captain Emma Johns in GK means the team is damaging at either end of the court.
Cripps 19&U improved their chances of holding onto 3rd spot on the ladder with a convincing win against the South East Suns young side. Cripps appear to be a well-oiled machine, feeding effortlessly to GS Ruby Clark. Ruby, shooting 47 goals from 49 attempts is our 19&U Hot Shot of the round. The Opens was a hotly contested match, with Mackenzie Queen, Alanna Cooper and Aimee Bean putting in seasons best performances. Despite their best efforts, Cripps took out the win 43-34.
The Cavaliers 19&U came close to locking in their 4th win of the season. Consistency and a ripper 4th quarter saw the team come within 6 goals of 4th placed Devon. The Opens Cavaliers took away their eleventh win of the season, remaining undefeated. This was our featured match of the round, congratulations to Sophie Blackberry for taking out the 2XU Player of the Match.
