Round 12 of the TNL wrapped up the second and final double header of the round.
Devon started strong in the first quarter against top of the ladder Northern Hawks. The Hawks came back in the second quarter scoring 17 goals to Devon's 8. An even second half meant the Hawk's second quarter effort secured them the win, 52-47. The Northern Hawks remain unbeaten in the home and away season, an all too familiar position for the team.
Devon and Hawks Opens had a close one in their previous match up in round 4. This time around the Hawks were dominant winning, 53-31 after an even first quarter. The Hawks goal circled, directed by Grace Close, were a force on court. A special mention to Grace Close for shooting 34 goals from 38 shots in the win.
Kingston Blues had a strong win against the South East Suns, 69-29 to lock themselves into 2nd spot on the ladder. Now a game clear of third placed Cripps Waratah. Our 19&U Hot Shot of the round was Bella Turner for her 32-goal effort in the win against Suns.
Kingston Blues Opens also needed the win to secure themselves 2nd and a game clear of 3rd placed Hawks. Winning 57-30, the unstoppable Nicole Hunt scored 41 of the team's goals making her the Opens Hot Shot for the round.
Cripps 19&U's, currently battling Devon to keep their spot on the ladder in third place, had a decent win over Karana. Putting it together in four consistent quarters, Cripps took the win 50-40. Cripps Opens also took home the win against Karana, 65-27. This was our featured match of the round, congratulations to Cripps centre court Abbey Geappen for taking out the 2XU Player of the Match for this round.
