With the loss of Bianca Hollingsworth during preseason, the Opens team will retain minimal players from last season, with a tally of just three returning.
Goalie Hannah Lee, Centre Court Kaitlin Petrie and Defender Zanna Jodlowska will combine with a new blend of youth and experience. St.LukesHealth welcome to the club two state league players who have made the move South in Lacey McHugh (ex Cavaliers) and Kelsie Jarvis (ex Burnie Tigers). They also picked up Nikki Cunliffe (Stoneman) who returns to State League after a few years off. St.LukesHealh have elevated its 2018 Best and Fairest winners and Tasmanian 19U duo Felicia DI Carlo and Mackenzie Queen to round out the team. They will be led by Head Coach Matt Charlesworth who previously coached OHA in the State League in 2016. The group are committed, accountable and striving for a finals birth in 2019.
The 19U Team are looking in great shape to better their fourth-place finish from 2018. Retaining Ella Richmond, Olivia Ferguson, Grace Jacobson and Charlie Wheller from 2018 and with the return of Grace Walker to the Centre Court from OHA. They welcome to the team Merrin Cooper who had a taste of State League throughout 2018 due to injury and illness, as well as a contingent of State Representatives in Megan Steele, Grace Pullen, Maddi Hay and Laura Phair.
The club have been mixing thing up during pre-season with some added sessions at CrossFit.
The Coaching team of Matt Charlesworth (Opens Head Coach), Anna Di Carlo (19U Head Coach), Nicole Terry (Opens Assistant Coach) and Margot Huxley (19U Assistant Coach) are working well together, demanding accountability, respect, commitment and team work.
