Netball Australia is pleased to advise the review and updating of the National Bench Official Accreditation Framework is complete. It has been updated to provide consistency with our Coaching framework, reflect our accredited officials' experience and skills and provide an entry level accreditation for community participants.
The new Bench Officials Education Course is now live and available through Netball Learning, covering all facets of scoring and timing from Community to SSN/International level scoring and timing.
The new accreditation consists of four levels as per the image below.
We are excited to introduce the Foundation Bench Official accreditation, giving our community the opportunity to learn how to complete a basic score sheet. A job a lot of parents and players are just thrown into at any given time. The Intermediate Accreditation to designed for those officials officiating at State League level and covers both the Play HQ and Netball Connect e-scoring platforms, whilst the Elite and High-Performance Accreditations is designed for those aspiring to officiate at SSN and International levels.
Current Bench Official accreditations have been realigned within the new framework and will appear in the learners Netball Learning account effective from Wednesday, 14th June. They will all receive an EDM at 6.00pm Tuesday evening notifying them of this change and referring them to the Netball Learning Support page if they have any questions.
This will coincide with the release of the 2023 Bench Official Framework document which is now available on the Netball Australia website, alongside the release of the Intermediate and Elite Bench official manuals.
Bench Officials are an important part of our game – they are responsible for ensuring the correct score is recorded, the correct time is played, and other match details are recorded accurately. We are pleased to have made this update that continues to enhance both Netball Learning and our officials' skills and capabilities.
