New Club set to enter Tasmanian Netball League
Netball Tasmania is excited to announce that the Hobart Heart Netball Club will be looking to enter the Tasmanian Netball League (TNL) for the 2024 season.
The Hobart Heart is an alignment of four passionate and motivated Hobart netball clubs that have joined forces to convene a new model. OHA, Palena and Kilburn have joined AYC/Arrows to bring a fresh approach to the Tasmanian Netball League. These four clubs bring over 200 years of history, 11 TNL premierships and a participation base of more than 850 players to Tasmania’s top competitive tier.
The major strengths of the revised model include:
- Clearer and boarder pathways for players and officials, providing development opportunities to wider demographic
- An expansive network to reach when recruiting and retaining top level players
- Significant commercial appeal for sponsors to extend into four clubs plus Hobart Heart as the fifth club at the top tier of competition within the state
- Advanced accredited coaches to lead the development of players and developing and intermediate coaches alike.
Like any new club, Hobart Heart have a clear plan and outline for progressive improvement in on court performance. Being able to draw on the depth in each of the four aligned clubs as feeders to one TNL team aims to see those talented players gain on-court minutes in state league that may not have been possible in a single club structure.
With trials to be held on Monday 20 November, Hobart Heart is confident of a thorough turn out of interested players to selections to both the 19 and under and Open teams competitive. With such reach over a large portion of the southern netball community, supporting a new initiative with feet on the ground is sure to help Hobart Heart put their best foot forward in 2024.
