High Schools Cup Preview: Marist College

The 2019 Netball Tasmania High Schools Cup State Final will be played at the Silverdome, Launceston, this Friday.

Dominic College, Mount Carmel College, Marist College and Riverside High School will all battle it out to be crowned the State Champions for 2019.

We take a look at the competing teams in the lead up to the final.

The Marist Regional College Team is made up of 6 Year 10 and 4 Year 9 girls. Most girls have had a number of years representing both their school in both MSA, NSATIS and the Burnie and Devonport Netball Associations. Earlier this year 4 Year 10 girls competed in the Annual National Marist Senior College Tournament in Alice Springs and all others have played in Marist NSATIS Teams that compete in the Northern competition where they finished as Runner-ups.

Many of the girls have played together for a number of years, some even from Grade 3. The teams strength is their healthy respect for each other, life-long friendships and their never give up attitude to do the best that they can. The team consists of Lana, Emilie, Anna, Macy, Liv, Georgia, Millie, Shania, Mackenzie and Brooke.

In the Northern competition the girls competing strongly gaining solid wins throughout the day. They look forward to competing against the other teams in the State Finals and the challenge of playing against other accomplished teams.
