Devon produced a stunning comeback to claim the 2026 TNL 19U Grand Final, running down Cripps Waratah 39-37 in a thriller at Silverdome on Saturday.
Cripps looked in control for large stretches of the decider, building what seemed an unassailable six-goal buffer as they pushed towards the 19U title. But Devon refused to fold, clawing their way back into the contest goal by goal to seize the lead when it mattered most.
Leading the charge was Grand Final MVP Shukuya Broomhall, whose composure and class in the goal attack bib was instrumental in steering Devon home when the pressure was at its highest.
The players held their nerve in the closing stages, sealing a two-goal victory and the Grand Final trophy in one of the great finishes to a TNL 19U season.
It's a heartbreaking result for Cripps Waratah but Devon's composure under pressure, led by their MVP, will go down as the defining feature of their premiership win.
