Home side Tassie Spirit, Vic Fury, Territory Storm, Southern Force and Western Sting will contest a triple header in Tasmania with the weekends only other game being played at Netball Central in Sydney between Waratahs and Darters. Three of the top four sides on the ANL ladder will take the court this weekend in Hobart providing a high quality showcase for spectators.
Tassie Spirit currently sitting 6th on the table with one win from four games will be keen for a strong showing in front of a home crowd. Spirit play table topping and undefeated Fury on Friday night before rounding out their 2015 campaign with matches against Storm and Sting on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Spirit will again be reliant on the performance of star Goal Shooter Sophie Gunn who’s 112 goals from 133 attempts at 84% see her ranked as one of the competitions top scorers. 2014 Tassie Spirit MVP Dannie Carstens will also be a vital player and her partnership with club teammate Sandra Bennett will go a long way to determining the outcome of Spirit’s games.
Victorian Fury Goal Keeper and captain Fiona Themann who is a member of the Scottish Thistles side for the 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney will be on court on Friday night ahead of her visit along with the Scottish National Team in late July. Scotland play Wales Saturday 1st of July at the Derwent Entertainment Centre.
