Netball fans, get ready for one of the wildest weeks of netball Tasmania has ever seen!
When you have a tour of the state with two famous Melbourne Mavericks players, the Head Coach of the Origin Australian Diamonds visiting, a Mavericks V Lightning SSN game, community workshops, and more all in the space of one week, things get a little bit exciting.
From the 24th to the 30th of June, it’s going to be a jam-packed celebration of netball like nothing else.
The week kicks off with Sasha Glasgow and Lauren Moore heading to Tas. They'll be meeting members of the netball community, from grassroots to high-performance. The girls land in Launceston and make their way down to Hobart, participating in meet-and-greets, school visits, and get-to-know-you sessions with our Wild athletes.
We have the incredible opportunity to welcome Origin Australian Diamonds Coach Stacey Marinkovich into our community. Stacey will share her inspirational story and coaching wisdom with anyone lucky enough to secure a spot in one of her sessions. Keep an eye out for further updates to see what’s on offer and how to register.
Throughout the weekend, the Melbourne Mavericks will be hosting fan activations and community events. The netball community is truly spoilt with opportunities to get involved, with volunteer positions available, community clinics, and meet-the-player opportunities.
Last but certainly not least, the Mavericks will take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning at Mystate Bank Arena on Saturday, June 29th, at 7 p.m. Get your tickets here if you haven’t already. Earlier in the day, our Tasmania Wild girls will have the chance to take the court against the Mavericks Reserves side in a curtain raiser, kicking off at 3.15 p.m.
More information will follow on all of the amazing events of Tassie Net-Week. If you are a fan of netball or sport in general, make sure you are following our socials to keep updated!
