Netball Tasmania would like to announce Mitchell Coulson has resigned from his position as Chief Executive Officer, having joined the organisation in February 2022. Throughout his three-year tenure, Mitch has been a stable and dependable leader for our sport.
At a community level, Mitch has overseen back-to-back years of record participation growth and the deal he struck with Newscorp to stream TNL via Kommunity TV made our sport available to a wider audience.
Mitch’s advocacy for the High-Performance pathway has resulted in countless opportunities for players, coaches, and officials, including the MOU with the Adelaide Thunderbirds, welcoming the Australian Diamonds back to Tasmanian shores, launching the Tasmania Wild brand and the Melbourne Mavericks home games in 2024 and 2025.
“Mitch has always advocated for and promoted Tasmanian netball, representing the organisation across a variety of stakeholders, including our affiliated associations and clubs, State government and Netball Australia. On behalf of the Tasmanian netball community and my fellow board members, I extend a sincere thanks to Mitch and wish him well.” Jacqui Lockwood – Chair
Whilst his time with Netball Tasmania is coming to a close, we look forward to seeing Mitch continue to advocate for sport in Tasmania in his new role with the Tasmanian Jack Jumpers.
The process around recruitment of Mitch’s successor is underway and in the interim, current Operations Co-ordinator, Tracy Jones will assume the acting CEO role.
