QUARTER 1: 10-13
Ash Turner and Ellie Marshall were rewarded with their first starting 7 position of the tournament. The defence end of Alex Vinen and Hannah Lenthall was strong in their rebounding and with Marshall wearing Hannah Mundy like a glove produced a number of turn overs. It was a fast and furious start and after Tassie settled they created a 4 goal run with Hayley McDougall and Turner taking their opportunities. Jess Earney came on late in the quarter while Turner rotated off. Shelby Miller and Ash Probert-Hill worked hard to get the ball to the circle edge.
QUARTER 2: 20-27 Macy Gonion entered the game at C with Miller moving to WA and Probert-Hill having a rest. Vinen and Lenthall remained strong at the backend creating pressure and drive. Probert-Hill re-entered the game at C and continued the quick ball movement. Earney created space at the front end and with Millers precise feeds into McDougall who converted. With 4 minutes to go we bought the score back to 2 before Fury managed a run and we go in to the break 7 down. A 10-14 quarter.
QUARTER 3: 27-41
Miller and Probert-Hill switch for the start of the 3rd Qtr. We were able to bring the score back to 5 early in the quarter with some good momentum going our way. Miller's workrate in the middle in finding opportunities for our attack end is second to none. Grace Pullen entered the game at WA with 8 mins to go in the quarter and Gemma Collyer moved into GD and entered the game well, while Lenthall took a well deserved break. Turner replaced Earney late in the quarter Fury got a run on late in the period to extend their lead. A 7-14 quarter.
QUARTER 4: 41-58
Coach Fletcher's words at three quarter time had immediate impact with higher intensity and work rate on display from the start. Probert-Hill came back onto WA to start the qtr. The Collyer and Vinen combination was working well with some strong intercepts and rebounds to set the tone for the quarter. Lenthall came into WD 5 mins into the quarter and Pullen re-entered the game at GS. The team continued to push hard right to the end with a 3 goal run to finish off strong. A 14-17 quarter.
