Introducing your 2026 Wild Captain and Co Vice-Captions.
The Tasmania Wild announced their leadership group that will guide the squad through one of the most important weeks on the state netball calendar.
Gemma Collyer returns as captain for another year, bringing with her the experience and drive that made her a natural choice to lead the Wild once again. Joining her in a shared vice-captaincy role are Grace Close and Sophie Blackberry, both returning players to the program who bring familiarity with the Wild's culture and standards.
The trio will lead the team into a demanding week of competition, beginning with the Play-In Tournament from 9 to 11 June, where Tasmania will face the Northern Territory and ACT to determine seedings heading into the finals weekend. The Super Netball Reserves Finals Weekend then follows at Sydney's Netball Central from 12 to 14 June, giving the Wild the chance to test themselves against some of the best emerging talent in the country.
The Tasmania Wild represent the pinnacle of the state's high-performance netball pathway, and the appointment of this leadership group reflects the depth of experience building within the program. With Collyer at the helm and two vice-captains who know what it means to wear the Wild uniform, the squad heads to Sydney with clear direction and a distinctly Tasmanian edge.
