Round 6 of the Tasmanian Netball League delivered an exciting afternoon of competition across both the 19U and Open divisions, with matches played in Ulverstone, Hobart and the Sorell.
At Ulverstone Sports & Leisure Centre, both the 19U and Open clashes between Devon and Cripps Waratah proved to be the closest contests of the round. In the 19U match, Cripps held their composure late in the game to secure a 49–42 win, narrowly beating out a determined Devon side in a tightly fought battle. The Opens match followed a similar script, with the teams trading momentum throughout the contest before Cripps held onto a 41–38 victory after a last quarter fight back from Devon.
At Hobart Netball and Sports Centre, the Cavaliers delivered two dominant performances against Karana. In the 19U match, the Cavs controlled the game from the opening centre pass with sharp ball movement and consistent shooting, powering to a convincing 68–33 win. The Opens side followed suit with an even more commanding display, showcasing strong defensive pressure and clinical finishing to record a comprehensive 89–35 victory.
Meanwhile, at the South East Sports Complex, the Northern Hawks proved too strong for the South East Suns in both divisions. The Northern Hawks 19U side produced the biggest margin of the round, applying relentless defensive pressure and capitalising on turnovers to secure an emphatic 82–23 win. The Opens team also controlled their match, building a steady lead through strong defensive efforts and efficient attacking play to finish with a solid 58–30 victory.
