TNL Round 13 had everything from blowouts, a nail-biter, and some standout individual performances that'll have people talking heading into next weekend.
The Cavaliers were simply on another level. The Opens put up an eye-watering 82 goals against Karana Flames, winning by 49 in a performance that was borderline ruthless. The Cavaliers U19s weren't far behind either, rolling Karana's 19U side 62–28 to cap off a perfect day for the club. When the Cavs are firing like that, they're a very hard team to stop. Sophie Blackberry was outstanding in the Opens, locking in Opens Hot Shot of the Round with 100% accuracy.
The Northern Hawks had plenty to smile about too. Up at Mowbray, the Hawks U19 Women put South East Suns to the sword 62–23, and the Open Women backed it up with a tidy 43–21 win over the Suns Opens later in the afternoon. A clean sweep for the Hawks, post bye they'll be happy with that one.
But the match everyone will be talking about came from Devon and Cripps in the Opens. Devon held on to pip Cripps Waratah 36–34 in an absolute grind to the finish line. Two goals. Devon showed some serious heart to get that one over the line, and it's the kind of win that can really lift a group. Gemma Collyer takes out the Player of the Round honours this week. In a two-goal thriller, she was a huge impact on Devon's last quarter resurgance.
Cripps Waratah U19s gave their club something to cheer about, putting together a solid 51–36 win over Devon in the earlier game. Devon's Isobelle Abel was the one turning heads this week, taking out Hot Shot of the Round with 90% shooting accuracy. South East Suns had a tough run in both grades, and Karana will be looking to bounce back after a difficult afternoon.
