Round 10 delivered a week of upsets and surprises across the board. After a week off for the National Netball Championships, team were fresh and ready to go. There were commanding wins and crucial ladder movement across both the 19U and Opens competitions, as the season continues to build towards finals.
In the 19Us, Cripps Waratah showcased their strength with a composed 42–33 victory over the Hawks. In a high-quality clash, Cripps' consistency across all four quarters proved the difference, as they fought off a third quarter fight back from Hawks to maintain the lead.
The match of the round came in Ulverstone, where Devon and Cavaliers fought out a thrilling 43–43 draw. In a true arm wrestle from start to finish, neither side was able to gain the upper hand, with the final score a fair reflection of two evenly matched teams. The Cavaliers GS Amber Brown snagged yet another Hot Shot of the Round for the 19U's, shooting 33 from 37 attempts.
Kingston Blues delivered a strong performance at home, defeating the Karana 46–33. Controlling the game from early on, Kingston combined defensive pressure with efficient attacking play to secure a confident win.
In the Opens, the Hawks held their nerve in a tight contest to defeat Cripps Waratah 38–35. With both sides applying scoreboard pressure throughout, the Hawks’ composure in the closing stages ensured they came away with the points. Cripps' Matilda Franklin shot at 100%, 14 from 14, to secure the Opens Hot Shot of the round.
Devon and Cavaliers added another close finish to the round, resulting in an upset with Devon edging ahead 47–45 in a high-scoring battle. The game was played at a fierce pace, with Devon capitalising on key moments late to seal the win.
The Kingston Blues produced one of the most dominant performances of the season, overwhelming the Karana Flames 87–28. Their relentless pressure and attacking efficiency proved too much, as they controlled the contest from the opening whistle.
