The TNL marked one of its most significant weekends of the 2026 season at the Northern Suburbs Community Recreation Hub in Mowbray, bringing together players, families and supporters across two days of competition to celebrate inclusion, diversity and belonging.
Pride Round is more than a fixture on the calendar. For Netball Tasmania, it is a visible and deliberate signal to every LGBTIQA+ player, coach, official, volunteer and supporter across the state that they are welcomed, valued and have a place in the game.
The weekend's double header across Rounds 15 and 16 had all seven clubs travelling to Mowbray to contest twelve matches across Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, the Hawks were dominant, accounting for Karana Flames Opens 77–15, while the Cavaliers proved too strong for South East Suns Opens 71–27. Devon posted a solid 53–44 win over the Kingston Blues. In the Under 19 competition, the Cavs turned in the performance of the day with a 72–30 victory over South East Suns, the Hawks defeated Karana Flames 57–32, and Devon 19U edged out Kingston Blues 47–39.
Sunday's action continued the momentum across both courts. In the Opens, Cavs were again impressive, defeating Cripps Waratah 61–31, while Devon held off South East Suns 42–37 and the Hawks rounded out their Pride Round campaign with a 55–46 win over the Kingston Blues. The U19s produced some of the tightest contests of the weekend, the Cavs survived a late challenge from Cripps Waratah 46–42, Devon ran out comfortable 62–28 winners over South East Suns 19U, and the Hawks closed the weekend with a 46–37 victory over Harcourts Kingston Blues 19U.
Netball Tasmania partnered with Working It Out for the fourth consecutive Pride Round. Tasmania's sexuality, gender and intersex support, education and advocacy service had a presence at the venue across both days, including speaking opportunities during the event.
Netball Tasmania will continue to work alongside Working It Out beyond Pride Round, with further education opportunities, training and inclusion initiatives planned for the coming months.
