Devon is ready to make its mark on the Tasmanian Netball League season, with belief building across the playing group and a clear focus on finals netball in 2026. Representing Tasmania’s North West in the League, the Devon program continues to unite talent from Queenstown and Circular Head through to Burnie, Devonport and Deloraine.
“After a foundational 2025, our mission is clear: to play a brand of netball that commands respect and drives both our Opens and 19 & Under teams into finals contention.”
The 2026 Opens line-up shapes as one of the most cohesive and determined units the club has fielded. “The Opens team enters 2026 as a formidable unit. With a core of eight returning athletes, two elevated 19 & Under stars and an exciting debutant, this team is built on continuity, commitment and hunger to be successful.”
That continuity is particularly evident in the defensive third. Makenzie Andersen, Gemma Collyer and Cara Watkins provide experience and composure, while elevated 19 & Under talent Mackenzie Towns adds crucial height and developing presence in the circle.“Our defensive end is anchored by experience, and we’re excited by the added circle height and presence coming through from our elevated 19 & Under talent.”
Through the midcourt, Devon’s engine room will once again set the tone. Experienced leaders Nicole Brown and Bek Filleul will guide the transition play, supported by debutant Georgia Brown and 2025 19 & Under MVP Lottee Rolls, a combination designed to deliver both reliability and spark.
“Our midcourt group brings leadership, drive and fresh energy. We have experience steering the play, complemented by youth and excitement that can change the momentum of a game.”
In attack, Tyrah Bacon, Jessie Eberhardt and Kendall Jones combine height, speed and creative flair, providing multiple scoring avenues and the confidence to convert opportunities under pressure.
“In the circle, we have height, speed and creative flair. There’s unlimited talent in this end, and a real belief in our ability to capitalise on opportunities and finish strongly.”
Beyond structure and talent, 2026 is also a celebration of longevity and loyalty within the program.
“This season is a celebration of longevity and loyalty, with nine players set to reach major milestones ranging from 50 to 175 games. That wealth of experience will be the catalyst for our 2026 finals charge.”
Devon enters the new season united, experienced and determined to turn belief into results.
