The 2025 semi-finals have been played and won, and we have two teams through to this year's Grand Final.
Qualifying
After a dominant season, the top ranked Northern Hawks 19&U were looking to change the story after a similar season in 2024, and straight sets losses in their finals campaign. The game started out close, with the Hawks leading by 2 at quarter time and then by 3 at half time. Both teams were feeling the pressure of finals, normally accurate in goals, each had their fair share of attempts. The Northern Hawks had a massive last quarter, to take the win over Devon 53-38, locking them into a grand final appearance. Devon will take on Cripps Waratah in the preliminary finals, their second and final chance at making the 2025 Grand Final.
In the Opens qualifier, the Kingston Blues showed their cards early leading into the quarter-time break, 16-13. For the rest of the match the Cavaliers put their foot down. An unchanged team until the last few minutes of the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers eventually took the win 62-49. They head straight through to the Grand Final on Saturday the 2nd of August. With the double chance, Kingston Blues will now take on thew winner of the elimination final, the Northern Hawks for the chance to make this year's Grand Final.
Elimination
The elimination final between Cripps Waratah and Kingston Blues 19&U's couldn't have been closer. Both sides left it all on the court, the lead seesawing at each quarter break. Cripps GS Ruby Clark scored 10 goals in the last quarter and in the last two minutes, Cripps came from 2 down to take out the win 41-40. Cripps will now go head-to-head to against Devon to make it through to this year's Grand Final.
The finals experience of the Northern Hawks Opens side played to their advantage, taking on Cripps Waratah in the elimination final. Courtney Treloar and Dani Laugher were accurate in goals for the Hawks, and Lynette Childs dominated in GK. The Hawks took the win 50-35 to head through to a tough preliminary final against the Kingston Blues.
