Netball Tasmania is excited to release the 2026 Tasmanian Netball League fixture, with the season kicking off on 21 and 22 February with Opening Round. The 2026 fixture comprises 21 rounds of netball. The final round of the home and away season will be played on 28 June, with finals to follow. The seven TNL teams have already been busy with pre-season, drawing on the experience of the 2025 season to prepare for the early start.
Similar to the 2025 season, teams will travel across the state to compete in Ulverstone, Launceston and Hobart. Excitingly, venues currently undergoing construction and renovations are expected to be available by around the halfway point of the season. Throughout the season, the league will break for the National Netball Championships in April and for the SN Reserves and Play-In Tournament in June.
Following the success of the Opening Round concept in 2025, the 2026 season will introduce two additional double header rounds, alongside hosting Opening Round once again. The two day opener will be held at Kingborough Sports Centre and will see each of the seven clubs compete across 12 matches in the U19 and Opens competitions. The weekend will also feature a Woolworths NetSetGo Come and Play day, half time competitions, partner pop ups and more. Later in the season, the Silverdome will host a double header on 23 and 24 May, and the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre will host another on 27 and 28 June.
Defending Opens premiers, the Cavaliers, have been working hard throughout pre-season. Veteran player Shelby Miller says their ultimate goals are to “gel early as a team on and off the court, maintain a positive training environment throughout the long season, and of course, play in the Grand Final.”
In her first season as South East Suns U19 Head Coach, Mia Bourke is excited to prioritise relationship building. “Firstly, relationships and connection. Culture and trust within a team is important to me, so building those relationships off the court will have a large impact on the court. We are very fortunate to have the 10 girls we do, because they are all great. We also know we must keep working on our skill and fitness, and that will be ongoing, as it is for all teams.”
