Updating Your Accreditation - Umpires

Updating your accreditation just got easier!

Umpires can now update their accreditation online through MyNetball.

By moving to an online updating system, Netball Australia are reducing the administration for the Member Organisations and you, our learner.  We’ll be able to easily see whose accreditation is up-to-date and be able to point you in the right direction for ongoing education and development opportunities.

We require all of our on court umpires to complete a series of tasks over a four year period after they’ve successfully attained their Netball Australia C, B, A or AA badge.

We recommend that all umpires continue to upgrade their knowledge, skills and competencies after they’ve attained their badge. Staying up-to-date maintains the overall quality of umpires in netball and makes sure they are provided with ongoing education and development opportunities.

Our ongoing education and development opportunities cover areas such as:
- The latest information on developments in netball
- Rules knowledge and current interpretations
- Access to the most up-to-date techniques and skills relating to umpiring

With thanks to Netball Victoria, the following guide will assist you in renewing your Badge once expired:

Here’s a couple of things you’ll need to know. You can also find the answers to more frequently asked questions via Netball Australia’s website.

Q: How does it work?

Our accreditation updates work on a points system. So, when you’re updating your accreditation you need to make sure you’ve
reached the relevant number of points within four years of gaining your current accreditation.

Q: When is the best time to apply for an accreditation update?

You can only apply for an update within six months of your current accreditation expiry date. MyNetball will prompt you.

Q: Do I need to have anything on hand?

When you’re updating your accreditation, it’s a good idea to have a list of any practical umpiring activities on hand. You can
add this information by completing the relevant fields in step six.

Q: I’m not sure how to update my accreditation.

That’s OK. Check out the step by step guide above, and click to view the Updating Requirements. Contact Game Development
