19U Season Preview

It has been with great anticipation at Blues that we have been waiting to see this combination of young talented players coming up from our underage pathway into the State League competition. Combined with just the right balance of seasoned & knowledgeable TNL athletes to compete together as a team this season in what we are sure will make for a commanding display of netball.

This united and happy group has got straight to work on the skills, endurance & strategies to make their mark in State League and they have put no limits on what they can achieve together.

The care takers of this group are returning Head Coach Sonja Fletcher, Shane Fish as Assistant, and Rosalind Herbert as Apprentice making up decades of Coaching experience who will ably support and take this team to where it can go.

This exciting team has been put through a rigorous preseason, cementing strong standards and expectations of each other, and as a group, and are looking forward to transferring these essential elements into success on the court.

Sadie Hardcastle will anchor a strong and versatile defensive end. Together with Molly Wilcox and Holly Haas, this will be a combination that is sure to trouble many shooting combinations. The speed and excitement of our midcourters in Grace Kinder and Divinia Mills and the calmness of Bessy Brereton will provide good balanced ball to our attacking and shooting combinations in Indie Hunt and Ruby Duggan and Sharp Shooters Bella Turner and Annabelle Gatehouse who are all up to the challenge.

The genuine pace, athleticism, courage and versatility of this team, along with the tangible connection amongst the players sets this group up for a fantastic season. We are certainly looking forward to hitting the courts in Round 1 and getting our 2026 campaign started.

Opens Season Preview

The Kingston Blues are back and ready in 2026! After two consecutive seasons reaching the preliminary finals, the team is determined to go one better this year and secure a spot in the big dance.

There are no changes to the coaching lineup – the familiar faces and voices remain. Tania McNear continues as Head Coach, supported by Alicia Leis and John Fox as Assistant Coaches. While their roles within the team will evolve, their shared passion and commitment to success remain unwavering. Behind the scenes, the ever-reliable Clarissa Murphy returns as Team Manager, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

We bid farewell to Tess Cooper, Brielle Gordon, Olive Wells, and Ash Turner, who leave big shoes to fill. However, the core of the team remains intact, bringing stability and experience. Exciting additions include Hannah Brereton, Mackenzie Graves and Ellie Doyle. Their energy and talent will add depth and versatility to the lineup.

The mid-court remains a powerhouse, combining physicality and creativity. Chloe Litherland brings relentless work rate and experience, while Lucy Bosker and Mackenzie Graves add speed and agility. Lucy Street continues to impress with her exceptional vision and bullet passes, ensuring seamless transitions from defence to attack.

Our defensive end grows stronger with Hannah Brereton and Ellie Doyle joining the circle. Hannah, adding the hunting qualities needed to disrupt opposition play and Ellie, who relishes the contest and thrives on shutting down her opponent. Emma Johns and Emily Handley complement each other perfectly, using communication and physicality to shut down shooters and force turnovers.

At the other end, our dynamic duo of Nicole Hunt and Jess Earney return, bringing cohesion and firepower. Nicole’s calm leadership and game sense pair beautifully with Jess’s physical presence and accuracy, making them a formidable combination in the circle.

With strong culture, experience, fresh talent, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, the Kingston Blues are ready to take the next step. 2026 is about pushing boundaries, embracing challenges, and striving for that spot in the Big Dance.
