Starting your coaching journey is simple. Below we have outlined the courses available to you on your pathway to becoming an accredited coach.

The Foundation Coaching Course covers basic coaching principles, teaching and correcting netball and modified netball skills. It is an essential course for anyone who wishes to coach netball. To access the Foundations Coaching Course go through MyNetball.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Coach 
Planning and Reviewing 
Risk Management 
Athlete Development 
Understand how to safely teach the basic skills of netball and identify skill faults and correct techniques 
Utilise effective communication techniques to develop player understanding of the basic skills of netball 

Pre-Requisites: 
Over 14 Years old 
Online Beginning Coaching General Principles (optional but preferred) 

The Development Coaching Course is aimed at those who are already coaching and want to improve their skills and achieve a higher level of accreditation. The Development Coaching course is now divided into two separate components. One half is online and can be accessed through MyNetball and the other half is a face to face course 

Cost: 
Online course is $55.00 + $77 for face-to-face component.

15 Years old at a minimum 
Foundation Accreditation 

Length: 
Face to face course takes four and half hours to complete. 

The Intermediate Coaching Course is a practically orientated workshop aimed at those who are coaching players above the age of 14 years at club, association or regional level. The course is an excellent introduction into the practical component of the Advanced Coaching Course.

Coaching Behaviours 
Plan, organise, conduct and control a skills sessionSkill Progression and Fault Detection and Correction 
Demonstrate the concept of sequential skill progression 
Describe when to use a coachable moment 
Understand the role of the mentor coach and establish practical strategies to enhance individual coaching

Pre-Requisites: 
Minimum Age: 16 Years 
Development coach accreditation 
Must be a current Netball Tasmania member 

Length: 
8 hours 

The Advanced Coaching Course is designed for coaches wanting to further develop their coaching skills to a level recommended for Regional, State League and State teams and Talent Identification. 

Cost:  
$275 inclusive of GST 

Pre-Requisites: 
Intermediate Coach accreditation 
Coaches must have had at least one (1) year/season coaching experience after completion of an Intermediate Coaching Accreditation and 2 years coaching at a minimum level of representative 15/U 
Must be a current Netball Tasmania member 

Length:  
2 Full Days, 1 x 2 hour Game Analysis Session plus three (3) written assignments plus practical assessment 

The Elite Course is designed for coaches of SSN assistant, underage state, State League and potential high performance coaches. The course comprises a number of compulsory and optional modules with the practical components delivered in each state and the theory components delivered either on-line or by correspondence.

Content: 
Identify and implement the elite tactics and strategies of Netball in a competitive situation 
Analyse and apply match play styles and systems and introduce advanced tactical responses 
Plan, prepare and evaluate an integrated yearly plan for an elite team 
Interpret the rule of Netball in skill sessions and game strategy panning 
Plan, prepare and evaluate an integrated yearly plan for an elite team 
Design and implement an individual skill session for elite netball players 

Pre-requisites: 
Advanced Coach Accreditation 
1 year coaching minimum level of Regional or State League Level (for candidates wishing to complete Accreditation. Participants may attend the Elite Coaching Strategies course without this pre-requisite) 

The High Performance Coaching course equates to the former Level 3 course and is conducted by Netball Australia for coaches who want to reach the pinnacle of coaching.
